Are you safer from disease and more secure than you were before Donald Trump became president?

Though not the cause of Covid-19, he failed to address the coming pandemic in January, February and March. This delay allowed the pandemic to get a firm grip on the country. Even if it originated in China, he had the responsibility to provide leadership as every other President had done in the face of a pandemic. Compare the number of deaths from this pandemic in the United States with those which were addressed by presidents Obama and Bush.

He has removed us from treaties leaving us without allies.

Even his highly publicized wall to be built between Mexico and by Mexico has never materialized. What has been built is already falling down.

Compare the number of protests and marches during his Presidency with those of the previous administrations of Obama and Bush. Compare the number of children murdered during his administration. If you are a minority or poor, your chances of suffering from police violence is higher.

His tariffs on other countries have led to our farmers needing welfare from the government.

NOW, that the President has declared a victory over Covid-19 and is dismantling the Covid-19 Task Force led by the Vice President, can the Senate led by Mitch Mconnel try him on his impeachable offences, find him guilty and remove him from office?

It would be too late for the 100s of thousands of our citizens who will have lost their lives because this President refused to recognize the danger and do his duty for his citizens.  That would be for the citizens other than his friends, grifters and money makers.

This is on you Mitch and your Republican cronies have stood by and watched while Nero fiddled and Rome burnt.  You, Mitch are the modern Nero.

A Matter of Choice

Which would you choose?  Which have the Republicans chosen?  Which will the Democrats choose?

Osterholm, who has advised several presidents on pandemics during the past 2 decades, co-authored the nine-page report, titled “COVID-19: The CIDRAP Viewpoint,” with epidemiologists from the Harvard School of Public Health and formerly from the CDC.
The team used prediction models, historic pandemic data, and published reports about COVID-19 to forecast the next 2 years. Based on that, they said government officials should prepare for a long-term pandemic. They discussed three scenarios:
  1. The first scenario could be that the first wave of COVID-19 this spring is followed by several smaller waves during the summer and the next 2 years, gradually decreasing throughout 2021. This could vary by geography and require periodic shelter-in-place recommendations.
  2. The second scenario could be that the first wave is followed by a larger wave in the fall or winter, and then smaller waves in the 2021, which could require shelter-in-place measures again in the fall. This scenario mimics the 1918-1919 pandemic.
  3. The third scenario could be a “slow burn” of transmission during the next 2 years, which may not require additional shelter-in-place orders but will continue to cause new cases and deaths.

IT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE SO VOTE.  VOTE EARLY.  VOTE BY MAIL.

Fight those who want to limit the citizens who can vote.
