Where, Oh Where, Are You Corporate America?

The deaths toll tens of thousands. Other than the investor class, the economy is in a shambles with small businesses on their last legs. Unemployed, people cannot pay their rent, make mortgage payments, put food on the table. Unemployment compensation is disappearing. And Yet!

You, corporate America, have done nothing to sway President Trump or the Republicans to save the working class and small businesses. I have a question for you.

WHO DO YOU THINK IS GOING TO BUY YOUR PRODUCTS OR SERVICES?

In the past you could rely on world markets when the economy slowed. This is a global pandemic. You have nowhere else to go.

To grow the economy we need to solve the Covid-19 crisis. What have you done to force President Trump and the Republicans to save your consumer’s lives?

To grow the economy we need small businesses and their employees. What have you done to force Trump and the Republicans to help small businesses and their workers survive to rebuild an economy on the other side of this virus?

I realize that you do not have any interest other than profit, but if you do not force President Trump and the Republicans to immediately come up with and pass a package like the “Heros” package; there will be no profit for a long time.

As for the investor class they will continue to inflate and deflate stock prices until, with the country in a shambles, someone looks behind the cortain and sees that the market is based only on smoke and mirrors. There will not be a black Friday; there will be a black year.

It is not too late for you to step up. Politicians cannot suvive without your donations; with even a hint of donations drying up Mitch and the Republicans will move, not to save the country, but to save their own fortunes.

NOW WOULD BE THE TIME TO ACT IN YOUR OWN SELF INTEREST AND THE INTERESTS OF YOUR STOCKHOLDERS.

Always Remember; Never Forget. The Heroes Act…

was passed by the House of Representatives MAY 15, 2020. That’s days short of three months ago. For three months, the Republicans have sat on it even though it became evident that it would not cover the length of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Republicans have sat around doing God knows what waiting for Americans to lose their unemployment extension and their ban on foreclosures and evictions. Why?

Could it be for their corporate sponsors to use their suffering as a bargaining chip to protect their donors from liability for forcing their workers to be exposed the Covid?

Could it be so that their investor friends could buy foreclosed on homes for pennies on the dollar to sell as they did after each of our last natural disasters?

Could it be so that could re-rent their properties for a higher rent after evicting their tenants?

And then to have the President show off to his buddies at his private golf club by signing a meaningless signing statment that can not consitiutionally be enacted.

Just a suggestion –

Really?

All you politicians who have left Washington to go home and “Campaign” ought to return to Washington and work on the really serious problems facing your constituents. You could work on like:

Covid-19,

rampant institutional racism,

poverty, infrastructure,

universal health care (any universal health care for a start),

climate change etc.

If you actually worked for your constituents, your actions would be your reason for being re-elected.

It’s embarassing to see you all running around and pandering to the PACs. If you did your job you wouldn’t need to spend all your time groveling for donations.

DO YOUR JOB!

JUST DIE DAMN IT!

It should be evident to even the Trumpsters that what the Republicans want is for the elderly (who are on Social Security. Medicare or Disability ) and the working poor (who are on Medicaid) and people of color (who are dispropornately affeced) to die. How can I charge that?

Why is he holding back on testing?

Why else would he want he elderly to attend his pep-rallys?

Why would he want to curtail testing?

Why isn”t his administration seeing that there are adequate medical protections for our health care workers?

Why does FEMA send “junk” to the providers in nursing homes?

Why has he silenced the CDC?

WHY ARE THE REPUBLICANS SAYING OR DOING NOTHING?

The death of these non-one percenters are the only hope this president and his Senators have of gettng elected.

At the same time, their deaths would decrease payments for Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid freeing up mney to dealwith the exploding debt they created with their first stimulus to the one percent.

Wake up!
